Barbell Flat Bench Press

Chest

1. Lie flat on your back holding the barbell above you. Your hands should be on the bar in a position that is slightly wider than your chest.
2. As we lower the bar to our chest, let your elbows aim straight down to the floor. We do not want them to flare out.
3. Have the bar slightly touch or hover just above your chest.
4. Using your chest, push the bar back up to the starting position.
- Keep the Barbell in line with your mid to lower chest.
- For better form, push your feet firmly into the ground and keep your lower back flat on the bench. As we go heavier, we may lift our pelvis off of the bench, but our goal is to keep an activated core and keep that back flat.
