Cable Wood Chops (High to Low)

Core

1. Start with the cables at a high position.
2. Stand with your feet about hip width apart facing 90 degrees away from the cables.
3. Grab the cables with both hands.
4. By only keeping a slight bend in your elbows, twist at your midsection in order to move the handle diagonally across your body to the outside of your outside leg.
5. Control the movement as your return back to the starting position.
- This is a core exercise, therefore we do not want to compensate by using our arms. To avoid this, keep the handle out in front of your chest for the entirety of the exercise and only use your core to twist and move.
- Squeeze your obliques at the peak of the movement. (Feel them contract as you bring the weight down and across)
- Exhale as your bring the weight down to help engage your core even more.
