Chest Press Machine

Chest

1. Sit on a Chest Press Machine with your back against the pad and hands on the handles. The handles should be in line with your lower chest. (Adjust the seat height is needed)
2. Using your chest (pecs), push forward to straighten your arms, but do not lock out your elbows.
3. To return to the starting position, bend your elbows and control the movement on the way back.
*Note: There are many different types of Chest Press Machines. This is a "Hoist" Machine which uses part of your body weight as resistance, which is why the seat is moving. The general movement of the Chest Press is the same on all stationary machines.
- Have a neutral spine and engaged core. No hunching. Present your chest forward in order to properly activate it.
- Try to only use your chest and do not push from your back.
